Card use in Sweden is above the EU average, though less than its Nordic neighbours. Most cards are debit cards. VisaNet and MasterCard Banknet are used for the clearing and settlement of domestic as well as international transactions.
The four main Swedish banks dominate card issuing. All four main banks also acquire, with Swedbank the largest acquirer. |
